- BlackBerry Service Restored
October 13, 2011 — BlackBerry service was fully restored around the world early Thursday morning, reports CNN.
Research In Motion (RIM), BlackBerry’s manufacturer, called the outage its largest-ever network disruption, affecting users in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and North America. The outage, which was first noticed earlier this week, primarily affected text messaging, e-mail, and Internet access. According to RIM, users may still see e-mails coming in slowly as the system recovers.
