EU Approves SCA’s Purchase of G-P Tissue Operations

July 9, 2012 — The European Commission has approved SCA’s purchase of Georgia-Pacific's European tissue operations.

Per the terms of the regulatory commission, SCA will sell some business properties in Great Britain, Ireland, Sweden, and the Netherlands in order to prevent hurting its competition, reports Reuters. SCA announced the US$1.65 billion purchase last November.
