November 2, 2011 — The Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) plans to play a more active role in supporting the adoption, legislation, and implementation of green building practises in Qatar, reports www.gulf-times.com.
The QGBC was formed in 2009 by a decree signed by Qatar Foundation chairperson H.H. Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. Since its inception the QGBC has worked to educate the country with numerous events promoting sustainable practises for green building design and development.
