UK NHS Reports 28% Drop In MRSA Infections

August 4, 2011 — The U.K. National Health Service (NHS) has reported record-low levels of MRSA bloodstream infections, according to www.thecleanzine.com.

NHS reports fewer than 100 infections recorded in June 2011, the lowest number for a single month since tracking started in 2001. U.K. Secretary of State for Health Andrew Lansley attributed the decline to tough infection control measures.
