July 19, 2012 — SCA’s purchase of Georgia-Pacific's European tissue operations officially has been completed.
The closing follows a ruling by the European Union regulatory commission requiring SCA to divest some business properties in Great Britain, Ireland, Sweden, and The Netherlands in order to prevent hurting its competition. SCA announced the US$1.65 billion purchase last November.
